Abstract:Histological diagnosis: Status lacunaris.Autopsy examination of 55-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin and van Gieson method.Numerous sinuses were found in the putamen, forming either around arteries with thick walls and stippled lumen, or due to maximal venous dilatation. The congestive veins were stretching the soft, spongy tissue.
