Abstract:
Histological diagnosis: Arteriosclerosis. malacia incipiens.
Autopsy examination of 72-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin, Holzer and van Gieson method. Both specimens showed perivascular and diffuse thinning of the tissue and necrosis of the cortex, partly elective, partly spongy. The presence of calcification was not observed - likely a technical failure during preparation.
