Subject and Keywords: Abstract:Histological diagnosis: Meningoencephalitis lymphocytaria. Haemorrhagia subarrachnoidealis reecens. Autopsy examination of 44-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained by Hematoxylin-eosin, Holzer and Heidenhain’s azan. Additionally, frozen section was stained by Cresyl violet. There was significant edema and congestion throughout the CUN. All vessels were filled with blood, and exudative fluid, Virchow–Robin spaces were widened and vascular-tissue junction relaxed. In the adventitia of individual vessels, mainly in the centrum semiovale, inflammatory infiltrates consisted mostly of lymphocytes were observed. Prominent glial activation and proliferation were noticed. Homogenization in some cortical nerve cells was seen. In the subarachnoid space in the left hemisphere in the fissures of the lateral occipitotemporal and middle temporal ganglia, fresh blood was seen. Besides that, in the soft meninges, slight infiltrates of lymphocytic cells near vessels or in the connective tissue. A lymphocytic infiltration visible also on a limited area in the fissure between the occipital lobes on the left side..
