Abstract:Histological diagnosis: Meningioma endotheliale.. Autopsy examination of 65-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained by H-E andVan Gieson’s stain. In the left frontal lobe optic disc, neoplastic tissue with sharp borders penetrating and par-tially destroying the frontal pole was observed. The structure of the tumor was quite charac-teristic, showing tightly arranged bulbous structures of endothelial cells intertwined with connective tissue fibers and vessels. Single bulbous formations were covered with pseudo-calcium salts. Atypical divisions were visible only here and there. Tumor in the frontal pole was segmentally separated by connective tissue, strongly stained van Gieson red. In this region, the tumor strongly compressed the tissue. In the cortex there were ischemic conditions. Features fatty degeneration, glial activation, edema and congestion were ob-served. .
