Abstract:The article established the global existence and uniqueness of solution for the three-dimensional and two-dimensional quasilinear thermoelasticity system which arises as a mathematical model of shape memory alloys. The system represents a multi-dimensional version with viscosity and capillarity of the well-known Falk model for one-dimensional martensitic phase transitions. In the set-up considered by Pawlow and Zajączkowski (2005) some conditions have been required for the nonlinear term. In this article, this result has been improved by making less restrictive assumptions.
