Muscle segment examination in light & electron microscopy

Abstract:

A 66-year-old patient with suspected myopathy was examined. A biceps biopsy was performed.Electronmicroscopy analysis did not revealed any changes in muscle fibers ultrastructure. Structureand arrangement of myofibrils were normal and unchanged myocytes nuclei laying undersarcolemma were visible. Few fat droplets within the muscle fibers were observed but it was probably due to the age of patient and is within the normal range.
