Abstract:

A 76-year-old patient with muscular dystrophy was examined. A biopsy of quadriceps sinister was performed. Structurally altered muscle fibers were observed, necrosis, focal loss of myofibrils and fiber split-ting were visible. Also an abundant connective tissue between the fibers was seen. In-flammatory cells (lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages) were numerous in the biopsy.The image of the biopsy suggests an active inflammatory process
