Abstract:

An 31-year-old patient with suspected progressive muscle weakness was examined. A biopsy of muscle was performed. Electronmicroscopy analysis revealed the unchanged structure of muscle fibers with mitochondrial cristae defect. Abnormalities in the periaxonal structure of intramuscular nerve fibers were observed. Neuromuscular junctions showed no secondary postsynaptic folds..
