Abstract:

Ultrastructural analysis of the collected specimen showed increased accumulation of glycogen-like granules around the periphery of some muscle fibers, as well as clusters of glycogen granules within the fiber cytoplasm. In order to approximate the type of accumulated material within muscle cells, PAS and PAS - diastase staining were performed, which showed glycogen characteristics. The morphological picture may suggest Mc Ardle's disease / glycogenosis type V /.
