Abstract:Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) belongs to the group of most common AIDS-associated opportunistic CNS infections and is considered to be one of the most destructive. Its frequency varies in different neuropathological collections of AIDS cases from 1.0% up to maximally 11%, however, in the majority of them it does not exceed 4-6%.
