Przypadek dotyczy 8-tygodniowego chomika mongolskiego, u którego stwierdzonogwiaździak rdzenia przedłużonego w pobliżu IV komory. Nowotwór ten jestpierwszym samoistnym gwiaździakiem napotkanym w OUN chomika mongolskiego.Rozpoznanie histologiczne opiera się dodatkowo na wydruku z komputera programowanegodla ludzkich nowotworów mózgu.
