Abstract:

Physical-geographic conditions are presented of the watershed of the river Jorka with particular emphasis placed on those factors of the geographic environment which affect the water and nutrient cycles in the watershed and the habitat features of the lakes. The description covers morphometric conditions of the watershed, as well as lithological, climatic and hydrographic conditions. At this background the potential is shown of the surface run-off to watercourses and lakes. On the basis of a number of indices the possible effect of the watershed on the particular water bodies has been determined.
