Abstract:The study contains a comparative presentation of the results of studies on the geobotanical characters and primary production of two different types of meadows. Attention is drawn to the considerable differences between the meadows in respect of habitat conditions, floristic composition, production value, domination of species and dynamics of plant biomass formation during the growing season. These meadows belong to two associations: Stellario-Deschampsietum (order Molinietalia) and Arrhenatheretum medioeuropaeum (order Arrhenatheretalia).
