The article presents a programme of the League of German Girls called the “Mission to the East” (BDM-Osteinsatz), carried out during the World War II. In the introduction the specificity of German “Myth of the East” is described, with its role in the education of the youth in the Third Germany. In the following text the creation and the organization of the BDM-Osteinsatz in the Wartheland is presented, with the main forms of its implementation and attitudes of the BDM-members towards the Polish and Jewish population in the Wartheland. The summary contains an analysis of the role played by the programme in the German occupation policy in the Polish territories.
