Description:

The photograph shows a classroom. In the benches are sitting a few dozen pupils of both sexes at the age of about seven to ten years old. Children do not wear uniforms, but some girls are wearing school aprons. On the back of the class, against a wall you can see two teachers between several pupils. A girl , clearly older than the rest of pupils stands next to the man standing in the aisle between the benches. Both men are dressed in dark suits and white shirts with ties and have white handkerchiefs in a side pocket ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
