Description:

Photography (scan from a slide). Example of the original places of worship rabari shepherds. In the background, a tree and walls of buildings in rural areas. Initially the stone is set there, and when the place is perceived as unique and sacred, then it takes on symbolism - hence the mound, tridents-represent divine place. In time, some of these places when they go beyond individual or lineage importance transforms into a kind of Hindu shrine. This process takes years, and occurs in parallel on two levels - widening the circle of meanings attributed to them by individuals, families to the village, and the transformation of the symbolism from the individual in a more complex Hindu
