Abstract:

Two new species of the Oriental planthopper genus Varma Distant, 1906 (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea: Tropiduchidae) are described and illustrated: V. gibbosa Wanget Liang sp. nov. (China: Xizang) and V. bimaculata Wang et Liang sp. nov. (China: Xizang), they represent the first record of the genus Varma Distant from China. A diagnosis of the genus and a key to the species of Varma are provided.
