Object description:

Photo (scan from slide). After death, the bodies of the dead cows are left for the vultures on the river bank. The thick skin is cut by a human so that the birds have access to the entrails. After the vultures have cleaned the bones and skin, the human takes the skin of the animal, which is later made into shoes, etc. The photo shows a herd of vultures. In the background you can see the waters of the Ganges and buses parked on the other side of the river.
