Object description:

Photo (scan from slide). The photo shows a fragment of the interior of the Amer Castle near Jaipur - one of the richly decorated walls in the castle grounds. Balcony where Maharana appeared. On a very richly decorated wall there are images of four rulers from the rulers' family. The castle belonged to one of the great Rajput Kachhvah families. It is situated on one of the hills. Initially, it had a defensive character, later it became one of the houses of several families. Today it is a tourist destination frequently visited by Indian and foreign tourists.
