Description:

The photo depicts three women and a teenage boy. The women are of different age – the oldest one is standing in the middle, with two young smiling girls standing on her both sides. The women are dressed in warm winter coats. The oldest one is wearing a hat and the tallest one – a beret. The boy is also dressed in a warm coat and has a military four-cornered hat on his head. In the distance there is a piece of a large building. According to the photo’s owner, it depicts her grandmother’s sister – Katarzyna – with her children, who were deported in 1940 to Kraków ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
