[A new house and its inhabitants] [An iconographic document]
Date issued/created: Description:The photo depicts a prominent, large, brick country house with an stylish wooden porch built with planks arranged in a grille pattern. The house is surrounded with a wooden fence, there is a wide wooden gate set on brick pillars leading to the yard. Standing in front of the house, on the road, there are four men in dark frock coats and an elderly woman in a dark dress. There is a dog (a pointer ?) sitting next to the leg of the man standing on the left side of the photo. There are two women in bright dresses standing behind a fence. According to the photo's owner, it depicts a newly-built house in the village of Palędzie; the house belonged to the family who employed her grandmother as a servant ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
