Description:

The photo depicts a woman and a man sitting in chairs in front of a house. There are seven children around them - three girls and four boys. Most of them are dressed in folk costumes. The youngest boy is sitting on a stool between the parents and is holding a cat on his lap. The woman is dressed in a dark blouse, a long striped skirt and a striped apron. The man is wearing a dark frock-coat, a waistcoat and a white shirt with a band collar, black trousers and long boots - "jack boots" and has a hat on his head. The girls are dressed similarly to their mother, although they have blouses with white collars and are wearing strings of beads. The youngest girl has a bright blouse. The boys are dressed in dark uniforms. The photo was taken in front of a n old timber house ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
