[The newlyweds and wedding guests] [An iconographic document]
Date issued/created: Description:The photo depicts a group of several dozen people in festive clothes. A young couple is standing in the middle, among the people. The woman is in a white dress with a veil, the man in a suit trimmed with a wedding rosette. The woman is holding a flower bouquet in her hand. Among the guests there are some women in regional costumes and characteristic large bonnets on their heads. On the ground, in front of the group, there are sitting children and musicians. The photo was taken in front of a large brick farm/industrial building. According to the photo's owner, it depicts the wedding of Agnieszka's brother (her mother-in-law' mother) - Marcin (...) with Katarzyna (…) ; 1929, Krzekotowice near Pępowo, district Gostyń, voiv. wielkopolskie ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
