Date issued/created: Description:The photo depicts two men and three women during works in the fields. The women are holding sickles in their hands The man on the left is holding a scythe in his hands; behind them there is a reaped sheaf. The man on the right is holding a horse by its bridle. At the back of the photo there is the following inscription: "Taken 1939 - the harvest in Maławieś. Standing from the right: (...) Walenty, his daughter Maria (...), neighbour Weronika (...), wife Jadwiga (...) and Klemens (...) - Walenty's (...) brother" ; 1939, Mała Wieś, voiv. zielonogórskie ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
