Abstract:Histological diagnosis: Foci haemorragices multiplices parvi. Status lacunaris incipiens.Autopsy examination of 67-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin and van Gieson method.Numerous smaller and larger perivascular sinuses were seen in the basal ganglia, often containing numerous loose lymphocytes.A hemorrhagic focus was noted in the orbital gyrus, appearing to be re-extravasation into a postmalacic cyst. The edge of the focus was loose connective tissue containing filled with hemosiderin macrophages. Two small circular hemorrhages in the occipital region appeared to be "squeezed" hemorrhages probably from venous vessels. The surrounding area of these hemorrhages was unchanged. Sclerotic changes in the small and medium vessels were very advanced.
