Abstract:

Histological diagnosis: Encephalomalacia. Status lacunenis.Autopsy examination of 64-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin and van Gieson method.Within the ganglia, there was one larger post-malacic lacuna and numerous small perivascular lacunae. The occipital focus was in the stage of mesodermal organization with the beginning of fibrous organization.
