Abstract:Histological diagnosis: Haemorrhagia recens hemisphaerii dextri cerebri ad systema ventriculorum et spatium subarachnoidealem penetrens. Angiopathia hypertomia. Oedema et hyperaemia cerebri. Autopsy examination of 76-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin, Heidenhain and Van Gieson's method. The border of a fresh hemorrhagic focus was found within the right basal nuclei. Extravasated blood was also present in the ventricular lumen and subarachnoid space. The soft meninges were markedly thickened, behind fresh fibrous deposits and cellular reaction, both blood- and macrophage-derived. Moderate thinning of neural cellular elements was observed throughout the brain. Lipofuscin deposits were predominantly present in the motor cortex area..
