Abstract:Histological diagnosis: Thrombosis a. cerebri med. dex. Encephalomalacia recens hemisphaerii dex. in reg. vascularisationis a. cerebri med. Foci encephalomalaciae inveteratae reg. parieto-occip. corticis et hemispaherii dextri cerebelli. Autopsy examination of 67-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin, van Gieson and PAS method.The specimens revealed an old focus of malacia in the occipital lobe and a fresh focus of malacia in the frontal lobe.
