Abstract:The author presents the main assumptions and the content of Smoleń-Wawrzusiszyn’s monograph paperPolish marketing discourses. A linguistic perspective. This book is placed in the context of critical discourseanalysis and the study of the professiolect of the so-called „new professions”. Changes taking place withinthe style(s) are an indicator of changes in the social and cultural reality of the post-1989 Poland, for exampleconsumerist attitudes and practices becoming more common.
