Abstrakt:

The article describes the possibility of storing and reconstructing collective memory in the text of the preambleto the Constitution. The source material, which was analyzed, was the introduction to the currentlybinding constitution of the Republic of Poland.The aim of the study was to identify and describe fragments of the preamble, having a real potential ofinfluence on shaping the social memory of the community. The methodology of cultural memory, proposedby Aleida and Jan Assmann, became a methodological basis for the conducted observation, with particularemphasis on the assumptions about the figures of memory, that is facts or objects, recalling memories orimaginations about memories.
