Date issued/created: Description:The photo depicts six young women in festive outfits (white blouses and long dark skirts, one in a dark blouse) and with carefully arranged hair. They are posing for the photo in front of a tapestry with a country landscape. Three women are standing and three are sitting. The photo was taken in a photographic studio. According to its owner, the photo depicts a group of her mother’s friends – activists and campaigners from their village, organizers of cultural and social life. The women in the photo (from the top, second from the left) are: Stanisława (...), Karolina (...) (mother’s sister), Maria (...), Maria (...), Felicja (...), Eleonora (...) ; 1912-1916, Posada Jaćmierska, voiv. Krośnieńskie ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
