Abstract:

Subtilisin, metalloproteinase, a-amylase and lipase are produced by culturing B. subtilisIBTC-3. The regulation of biosynthesis of these enzymes is described. They are produced in thevarious media containing their inductors. Addition of yeast extract or com steep liquor markedlyincreases proteinases production. The catabolic repression of proteinases biosynthesis isn’tobserved in the media containing glucose. In the medium with NH4 ions both proteinases andamylase activities are completely lowered. The addition of casein hydrolysate markedly reducesproteinases production.
