Date issued/created: Subject and Keywords: Abstract:An approach for enzymatic synthesis of oligosaccharides via transglycosylation with endo-p1,3-glucanase from Oerskovia xanthineolytica is described. Linear -p-l,3-glucan (laminarin) wasused as the donor of glycosyl residues, whereas nitrophenyl glycosides of different monosaccharides served as acceptors. The synthesis was performed in water-organic solvent environmentwith several combinations of donor/acceptor. Employing p-nitrophenyl-P-D-xylopyranoside as anacceptor in the presence of 30% acetonitrile resulted in the production of six new glycosidesshown by FAB MS to be di-, tri- and tetrasaccharides. This enzyme is therefore suitable for thesynthesis of short-chain oligosaccharides.
