Date issued/created: Subject and Keywords: Abstract:Iron is the fourth most abundant element and second, after aluminium, metal in the Earth’scrust. It is an essential nutrient for almost all living organisms. Iron is a component of hundredsproteins, enzymes and their cofactors.
