Abstrakt:

A 58-year-old patient with suspected facioscapulohumeral dystrophy (FSHD) was examined. A biopsy of quadriceps dexter was performed. Electron microscopy revealed lipofuscin deposits and focally numerous fat droplets were observed. Altered mitochondria were seen, some of them were partially devoid of mitochondri-al cristae. Crystalline inclusions in the mitochondria were observed. Image of the biopsy suggests mitochondrial myopathy
