Description:

The photo depicts a dark-haired woman sitting in a chair and a small girl in a white dress and a hat standing next to her. The photo, taken against a background of a curtain/ drape (?), is in a very bad technical condition. According to its owner, the photo depicts Stanisława (…), a resident of the village of Doły, aunt of the standing girl Eugenia (…) from the village of Wierzba. The photo was taken in front of a church in Krasnobród on the church fair day on 2 July 1931 ; July the 2nd, 1931, Krasnobród, Zamość district, voiv. lubelskie ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
