[Newlyweds with wedding guests] [An iconographic document]
Date issued/created: Description:The photo depicts several dozen people wearing festive clothes with rosettes pinned to lapels, posing for the photo. Sitting in the first row are the bride and the groom. The woman is in a white dress, without a veil, the man is dressed in a suit and has a small sprig of boxwood (?) in his lapel. A man standing next to the groom is holding a white and red flag in his hand. Behind the guests there is a partly open large white barn door. According to the photo’s owner, it depicts a country wedding and the newlyweds Maria and Ludwik (…) with their guests ; September the 27th, 1927 ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
