Abstract:

Two ways of fitness definition in ecological models are presented. The first one is applaying so called Lotka's equation. This definition can be applied to the clone with stable age structure and exponential growth of number of individuals in age classes. The second definition allows for great liberty in fitness defining. In this approach different fitness definitions are connected with different models. The problem of correspondence between various fitness definitions still exists.
