Abstract:

The paper aims at modelling uncertainty in greenhouse gas emission inventories, referring to the problem of nonsymmetric uncertainty distributions, to be accounted for in the compliance and trading rules. The methods proposed, generalize those for the symmetric uncertainty distributions and are based on interval estimation or on application of fuzzy numbers, where the latter enables a better shape of the uncertainty distribution, and the former requires a higher substitutional noncompliance risk as a parameter.
