[A portrait of a young man] [An iconographic document]
Creator: Date issued/created: Description:The photo taken in a photographic studio [of A. Jabłoński] in Zamość. It depicts a young man in a uniform standing by a high table decorated with a vase with flowers. At the back of the photo there is the following inscription: “21 May 1922, Zamość. Michał (…) used to live in Wielącza near Zamość” (this sentence added in a different handwriting). [Followed by a poem containing some spelling mistakes] “I am writing these few words to you girl/ together we shall drink the Golden Goblet of Happiness/ whether on a Sunday or an Ordinary Day/ we will be together/ Nothing shall do us Apart” ; 21 May 1922, Zamość ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
