Description:

The photo shows a young couple on their wedding day. The woman has a veil on her head and flowers in her hand; the man is dressed in a dark suit, a white bow-tie and white gloves. The photo was taken outdoor. There is a short, questionnaire like inscription on the back of the photo: “1. Taken in 1921 2. The photo of a just married couple 3.The wedding day 4. Cellofix 5. Chrościce Village, Opole district 6. Mr. and Mrs. (…)” (some errors in Polish original);1931, Chrościce Village, Opole district ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
