Description:

The photo shows a group of men, a woman and two boys in front of an inn. Two men and a woman are sitting at the table, others are standing, three of them by their bicycles. Children are sitting on the ground, holding rims of the wheels and sticks used for playing a game. All are festively dressed: the woman in a dress with a white frill, men in suits and hats or caps. The handlebars of the bicycles are decorated with flower chaplets. A bottle and some beer mugs are visible on the table ; The photo sent to the contest “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly „Nowa Wieś” (New village). The copy of the photo in the possession of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute of the History of Material Culture).
