Date issued/created: Subject and Keywords: Abstract:In this paper, present-day techniques used in reconstructive surgery of the facial skeleton are presented, including indications for autogenous, free and vascularized bone grafts as well as homogenous grafts, implants and biomaterials. The main directions of the development of reconstructive surgery are discussed. The preliminary results of research on xenogenous bone grafts harvested from transgenic pigs are presented as well as experimental model for New Zealand white rabbit and transgenic pig.
