[The haymaking] [An iconographic document]
Date issued/created: Description:The photo depicts a four-member-family during a haymaking. The man in a hat is sitting on an agricultural device drawn by two horses. A woman holding a rake with a small girl at her side is standing in the front of them. On the left side of the photo a young woman is holding a third horse. According to the owner of the photo it was taken in June 1948 during the haymaking and shows Apolonia (…) with her husband Wojciech [Voytek] and her daughter Adela [Adele] and the little three-year old Zosia [Sophie]; June 1948, Mąkoszyce Village, Opole voivodeship ; The photo sent to the contest “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly „Nowa Wieś” (New village). The copy of the photo in the possession of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute of the History of Material Culture).
