Muscle segment examination in light and electron microscopy

Abstract:

A 9-year-old patient with suspected mitochondrial myopathy was examined. A biopsy of biceps sinister was performed. Electronmicroscopy analysis revealed ultrastructurally unchanged muscle fibers characterized by preserved sarcomeres structure. Nucleus located under the sarcolemma and quite numerous fat droplets were observed.
