Muscle segment examination in light & electron microscopy

Abstract:

An 51-year-old patient with suspected myopathy was examined. A biopsy of quadriceps sinister was performed. Electronmicroscopy analysis revealed the unchanged structure of muscle fibers with mitochondrial cristae defects and collecting fat drops. Additionally, accumulation of glycogen grains under the muscle fiber membrane was observed.
