Abstract:

A 57-year-old patient with myopathy was examined. A biopsy of quadriceps sinister was performed.Electronmicroscopy analysis revealed muscle fibers with preserved myofibrils and unchangedsarcomeres pattern. Quite numerous fat droplets were present.In addition to unchanged mitochondria, swollen mitochondria characterized by light mitochondrialmatrix and significant loss ofmitochondrial cristae were observed .
