Pancreatic juice was taken sterilely from the dog-donor. Experiments were done in 5 groups. In the 1st group gradually increasing amounts of the pancreatic juice were administered to 7 dogs, with purpose to determine eventual lethal dose. In the 2nd group, 11 dogs received pancreatic juice in amount more than 55 ml/kg of body weight. In the 3rd group, 3 dogs were administered inactivated pancreatic juice, also in amount more than 55 ml/kg of body weight. In the 4th group 3 dogs were administered intravenously 0,9% of natrium chloride solution with merthiolate added. In the 5th group 3 dogs received transfusion of 100 mg of trypsine, dissolved in borate buffer solution (acc. to Michaelis). Foilwing results were obtained: pancreatic juice administered intravenously in amount of 55 ml/kg of body weight, during some 20—25 minutes, caused death of the experimental animals. All remaining animals survived.Clinical symptoms observed after pancreatic juice administration seem to be causally joined with the action of the group of pancreatic enzymes. Attemps to determine which a these enzymes arc responsible for tht described effect, failed
