As a trusted officer of the then Head of the Second Department of Polish General Staff , Colonel Wacław Komar, he was to perform special tasks related to intelligence work, involving, among other things, collecting information on General Władysław Anders’s 2nd Corps, as well as carrying on surveillance of the then ambassador of the Provisional Government of National Unity to Rome, Stanisław Kot. Due to a conflict with the head of the Mission, Colonel Kazimierz Sidor, he could not complete his intelligence assignments.
