 abstract={The article is a summary and an analysis of a discussion by mail that was published in ‘Dobra Gospodyni’, a household magazine for provincial gentry, in 1904. A flurry of letters written by the readers concerned the subject of methods and benefits of sex education of girls and maturing teenagers. The article puts the discussion in the context of the contemporary public debate on the same subject, identifying the arguments and inspirations adopted by the participants both from the conservative and progressive, emancipatory side.},
